Government
The City of Forest City has a mayor-council form of government with an appointed city administrator. The mayor is elected every four years and the seven council members serve four year staggered terms. Five council members represent individual wards and two council members serve as at large representatives.
The city council appoints the city attorney, and the city administrator. The city administrator appoints the city departments heads with council approval.
