Boy Scout Clean Up Day

Forest City- It’s Spring, the perfect time to declutter your house and clean out your storage room and garage! The Annual Boy Scout clean-up day in Forest City has been set for Saturday, May 7th 2022.  This is a fundraiser for Boy Scout Troop 418.

The Boy Scouts and City Employees will be picking up articles curbside for Forest City residents. 

Those who want to participate in the clean up must register by noon on Friday, May 6th. Small debris fee is $30, medium amounts are $50, large amounts are $70 and up. To arrange a pick-up, call the Forest City Hall at (641) 585-3574.

All residents will have the chance to clean out their unwanted items with a few exceptions.

CLEAN UP GUIDELINES: - All items must be separated into piles of building materials, furniture etc. - Building materials must be cut into 4ft lengths, with nails pulled, and securely tied into bundles weighing less than 45 lbs. - Unacceptable items that will not be picked up: tires, oil, paint, batteries, household chemical cleaners, trees & brush, TV’s, electronics, household appliances, stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, air conditioners, computers & components, etc. (Many of these items can be recycled at the landfill of North IA).
